Racine Police investigating four Memorial Day shooting incidents

The Racine Police Department is working to determine the circumstances behind four shooting incidents that occurred within hours of each other Monday night.

Authorities responded to the first shooting in the the 1700 block of Howe Street about 10:08 p.m. When police arrived, they found an adult male that was suffering from a gunshot wound. Police arrested a suspect at the scene.

Another shooting unfolded about 11:30 p.m. in the 1000 block of S. Memorial Dr. Police found a man suffering from a gunshot wound who was transported to a local hospital.

The third shooting happened about 11:45 p.m. near the intersection of Rupert Blvd. and Mertens Ave. Paramedics transported a man with a gunshot wound to a local hospital.

Officers also responded to a shots fired call in the 600 block of Barker Street after 8:22 p.m. finding twenty four spent casings. No victims appeared to be struck by the gunfire.
