RACINE — Youths recently have been going door to door soliciting money for a fundraiser that likely is a scam, the Racine Police Department said in a news release.

The incidents have occurred in Caledonia, but police wanted to make Racine residents aware.

The youths reportedly tell people they are raising money for their basketball team, but Racine Police said there is no connection to any local high schools and the basketball team does not appear to be legit.

Please be aware before giving money to any solicitation.

If you are able to identify these youths, please contact Crime Stoppers at 262-636-9330.
