RACINE — One man is now in custody following an attempted homicide that took place on Tuesday.
According to Racine police, the department responded to the 5400 block of Athens Ave around 4:16 p.m.
When officers arrived, they found the victim suffering from a gunshot wound. They moved the victim to safety, and he was taken to a local hospital.
The suspect was still inside the home with a woman and child, when the victim was found. Eventually, police got the woman and child out safely.
After police spoke with the shooter, he surrendered to police and was taken into custody.
The victim's gunshot wound was non-life threatening, and the shooter is still waiting on charges.
