Racine Fire Department responds to deadly house fire Saturday morning

RACINE — Early Saturday morning, the Racine Fire Department responded to a house fire in the 1300 block of Rapids Drive.

The fire occurred at 2:56 a.m. and led to around $45K in damages, according to the Racine Fire Department.

One man, who officials say is an adult, was killed in the fire. No other injuries were reported.

The cause of the fire is still under investigation. However, investigators believe the fire originated in the first-floor kitchen.
