Racine Co. man charged with using hidden cameras to take photos of preteen girl

DOVER, Wis. — A 36-year-old Racine County man has been charged with 30 felony counts for reasons including: repeated sexual assault of a child, using hidden cameras to take photos of a child under the age of 13 without her consent and possession of child pornography, according to the criminal complaint.

Kevin A. Meyers is accused of hiding a spy camera in a smoke detector and using a "pinhole" camera to take photos of a young girl. Meyers had more than 160 photos and videos on his cell phone of the girl in "various states of undress," according to the Racine County Sheriff's Office.

Meyers is also accused of strangulation/suffocation and physical abuse of the same minor.

If convicted of every count, Meyers faces over 400 years in prison and may be fined over $1 million.

His preliminary hearing has been set for August 1. Cash bond was set for $75,000.
