Racine birthday party ends in gunfire

Three people were injured Friday night after a birthday party in Racine ended in gunfire.

Officers were called to the  George Bray Community Center at 924 Center St. shortly before midnight after receiving reports of a large fight inside the facility.

Witnesses said several shots were fired and police discovered three people suffering from injuries.

Police say the victims, 16- and 20-year-old females and a 23-year-old male, were rushed to a local hospital.

  • The teen was later transported by Flight for Life to Children’s Hospital for treatment of her injuries.

    Police did not say what’s believed to have sparked the incident.
