Public can weigh in on data privacy, security breaches

If you're a business owner in southeast Wisconsin worried about data breaches, or if you're a consumer that wants to know more about how to keep your personal information safe, there's an important meeting happening in Milwaukee Tuesday morning and you can take part in the public comment period.

The DATCP Data Privacy and Security Advisory Committee is meeting at a DNR office on 6141 Hopkins Street.

The team made up of state government reps, data stakeholders and more came about in the summer of 2019 and a big goal was to create legislation that would protect consumers in Wisconsin from a data breach.

The public comment period for this meeting starts at 9 A.M. and lasts 50 minutes.
