Just about everyone has an opinion about the NFL player protests during the national anthem, but has Governor Scott Walker's position changed on that issue?

PolitiFact Wisconsin uses the Flip-O-Meter to check out Walker's statements.

This season the NFL has been surrounded by controversy over players kneeling or sitting during the national anthem.

"We're looking at Governor Walker's position on the NFL player protests during the national anthem," said Tom Kertscher with the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel.

PolitiFact Wisconsin says Governor Walker has made three statement on the issue.

In late September, Walker said he was taught to stand and put a hand over the heart.

"He was personally against the protests but didn't tell the players what they should or shouldn't do," said Kertscher.

But since then PolitiFact Wisconsin says the Governor has been more specific and outspoken about the players protests - suggesting players should stand.

"Yesterday he went a step further and started an online petition to try to get other Americans to pressure the NFL players to stop protesting.

PolitiIFact Wisconsin rated Walker's claim a Half Flip.
