UPDATE 02/03: The Milwaukee County Sheriff's Office said the initial closure of I-43 was due to a "high-risk traffic stop."

Though the subject involved in that traffic stop was released after questioning, at the same time, several callers reported what they believed to be a subject picking a gun up off of the freeway.

That gun turned out to be a hand radio. No arrests were made.
