WAUWATOSA — Wauwatosa police say shots were fired at Mayfair Mall and a victim later turned themselves into a local hospital with non-life-threatening injuries Wednesday night.
Officers responded to the shots fired call around 6:30 p.m. at the mall. Police later found a victim at a local hopsital.
Police say there was no danger to the public.
The Wauwatosa Police Department reports that their investigation indicates the shooting was from a drug transaction.
The victim's gunshot wound was non-fatal and self-inflicted, police say.
UPDATE: Preliminary investigation indicates this was a drug transaction where one of the involved parties suffered a non-fatal, self-inflicted, gunshot wound to the leg.
