Police search for vehicle involved in fatal hit-and-run

The Milwaukee Police Department is requesting help from the public in locating the vehicle involved in a fatal hit-and-run crash.

The vehicle in question was involved in the hit-and-run crash near 1st and S. Chase Avenue that left a 36-year-old woman dead Sunday night.

Police say the vehicle was traveling northbound on Chase Avenue when it struck the woman about 7:30 p.m.

Witnesses to the crash describe the vehicle as a dark color SUV. Parts recovered from the scene are from a 2017 or newer Jeep Cherokee.

The Jeep Cherokee police are looking for will have front-end damage, including missing third and fourth grille inserts. The word "Jeep" on the leading edge of the hood is also damaged.

The vehicle was last seen fleeing north toward W. Lincoln Avenue. Anyone with information is asked to contact Milwaukee police at 414-935-7360.
