GREENFIELD — Greenfield Police say two men from Milwaukee have been taken into custody after one of them robbed a bank and the other was the getaway driver.

Shortly after 5:00 p.m. Friday, police received a holdup alarm from Educators Credit Union, followed by 911 calls from inside the bank. Officers later learned a 24-year-old Milwaukee man demanded money by threatening workers with a weapon and was leaving the bank.

Police say the suspect was seen getting into a waiting vehicle, which was later located by Greenfield Police in the 2800 block of South 83rd Street. The two were taken into custody along with money believed to be from the bank.

The driver was identified as a 26-year-old Milwaukee man.

Charges are expected to be taken to the District Attorney’s Office later next week. The investigation is ongoing.
