BUTLER — Butler residents received an emergency alert Friday afternoon due to a police investigation happening near 127th and Peck Place that ended up being a domestic dispute.

Police say they arrived at 12735 W. Peck Pl. just before 1 p.m. for reports of a man and woman fighting outside their home, according to a Friday evening news release.

When they got there, they were unable to make contact with anyone at the residence. About 45 minutes later, police say they made contact with the woman, and she was detained. At that point, a perimeter was set up with assistance from police departments from Brookfield, Menomonee Falls, and Waukesha.

After officers were unable to make contact with the man, they eventually went into the home with a Tactical Enforcement Unit and took him into custody without incident. The 24-year-old Milwaukee man is being referred on charges of battery and obstructing an officer.

The woman sustained minor injuries but did not require medical assistance, police say.
