Police investigating sexual assault near UW-Milwaukee campus

MILWAUKEE — The Milwaukee Police Department is investigating a sexual assault that occurred near the UW-Milwaukee campus Monday.

Police say that an unknown suspect grabbed the victim from behind and fondled her in the 2700 block of N. Frederick Ave about 11:45 a.m.

University officials released a statement to students on Monday afternoon.

The suspect is described as a black male, wearing a black hooded sweatshirt and black track-pants. Authorities believe that he walked eastbound on Newberry from the scene.
