BROWN DEER, Wis. — Brown Deer police have arrested a suspect after officers responded to a shots fired call last week and found a man suffering from several gunshot wounds. The victim later died from the injuries.
The suspect was arrested on Monday, police say. Criminal charges will be filed in the coming days.
The incident happened inside a home in the 4900 block of West Spring Lane last Wednesday. Police said they contacted local businesses, schools and daycares and urged people there to shelter in place while officers searched for the suspect.
It started when a 911 caller advised gunshots had been fired in the home and that the suspect had run away. Responding officers tried to save the man suffering from the gunshot injuries, but he was later pronounced dead at the scene.
Police say there is no threat to the public at this time.
