Green Bay grandmother accused of leaving two infants in hot car

Green Bay police have referred charges of child neglect on a Green Bay grandmother who allegedly left two of her infant grandchildren inside a hot car while she shopped.

Police responded to a call at the parking lot of the Bethesda Thrift Shop on Military Ave on Thursday at 11:25 a.m.

They found a 1-year-old- and 1-1/2-year-old infant left unattended in a car with the windows up. The car was not running.

  • A rescue squad was called to the scene.

    The 51-year-old Green Bay woman had been inside the thrift store with three other grandchildren, leaving the two in the car, according to police

    Child Protection Services was called to scene.

    All of the children were turned over to their daughter.

    The woman faces two counts of child neglect.
