Posted
RACINE -- Racine police are still looking for the person who shot and killed a restaurant delivery driver over the weekend.

James Norris, 37, of Racine, was shot at approximately 11:30 p.m. Friday, March 25 near Green Street and 3 Mile Road while dropping off food at a home

His best friend still can't believe the news.

"I'm an emotional wreck, honestly," Michael Greco said.

Co-workers at Steak and Lemonade restaurant don't know why someone would shoot Norris. Greco said Norris had seven kids and was admired by many.

"He was just very outgoing, very friendly and liked by a lot of people," Greco said. "A couple of months ago, there was a house fire not far from here. He actually broke down the door to get the people out."

Police are still investigating why someone shot Norris. Neighbors said they heard several shots, but didn't see anything before the shooting.

"I hope they catch the guy and he rots in jail for the rest of his life," Greco said.

A memorial with well-wishes and stuffed animals rests rests near the spot where Norris' life ended. His family and friends can only hope justice comes soon.

"It hasn't really sunk in to his oldest yet, but it will," Greco said.
