Forget the cookies - a Beloit couple is accused of stealing cash from Girl Scouts.
It happened Sunday outside a Walmart store. The Girl Scouts said a woman stole their tip jar. Police pulled a couple over, and a man was arrested.
The woman passenger jumped into the driver's seat and took off - she was caught after a short chase.
"It's surprising because people are out there trying to help nonprofit organizations, such as the Girl Scouts, and for someone in the community to actually do this," Police Captain Dan Molland said.
"This is a regrettable life experience that the girls will have to endure, and they will learn from it. They're Girl Scouts," added Christy Gibbs.
The woman faces felony fleeing charges along with theft for stealing the tip jar.
