Are you planning a date for New Year’s Eve? Chances are you already know something about your prospective date.
According to a new study,released by JDP, people learn a lot about each other before meeting face-to-face thanks to social media and the internet.
Here are some findings:
- 76 percent of people spend 15 minutes or more on research, per person
- Two-thirds said they go "most" or "all the way" back in a person's social media profile
- 40 percent have backed out of a date because of something they found while researching online
- 61 percent admitted to fantasizing about dates before meeting them
Most people (63 percent) said they were not embarrassed by their pre-date research.
