Planned Parenthood of Wisconsin announced Friday the opening of a south side clinic that will provide abortion services.

The new location will be located in a previously vacant manufacturing site near the harbor district.

There are only three locations in Wisconsin that provide abortions.

The organization said the construction of the new center will be paid for, “entirely thanks to the generous financial support of many individuals throughout Wisconsin.”

PPWI estimates it provides services to more than 30,000 patients in its six centers in Milwaukee County each year. No state or federal funding is used for abortion services.
