Racine police have a person of interest in custody for the death of a 3-year-old.
Police said in a news release Wednesday that the individual is in custody awaiting formal charging by the district attorney's office.
Police were called to the 1800 block of Howe St. just before 6:30 a.m. Wednesday after a report of someone dead at the location. The 3-year-old's body was found in the upper unit of a home.
They said the investigation is still ongoing, and a post-mortem examination is planned for Thursday.
