KOHLSVILLE -- The Washington County Sheriff's Office is investigating a deadly pedestrian accident in Kohlsville.
Sheriff's deputies say a 37-year-old man was walking in the road on County Highway D early Sunday morning when he was hit by a 53-year-old West Bend man driving on the highway. By the time first responders got there, passing drivers had stopped and were giving the man CPR. He was later pronounced dead.
The 53-year-old man returned to the scene, according to deputies, and was taken into custody for OWI and homicide by intoxicated use of a motor vehicle.
Deputies say the incident remains under investigation, but alcohol is suspected as a contributing factor.
