MILWAUKEE -- A 73-year-old Milwaukee man is in custody after a fatal hit-and-run crash Tuesday evening.
Milwaukee police said David R. Montanez, 64, of Milwaukee was struck at 5:14 p.m. near Layton Boulevard and Rogers Street.
Officials said Montanez was crossing the street westbound on Rogers after exiting a Milwaukee County bus. He was taken to a hospital and later died from his injuries.
The suspect was identified by witnesses and located at nearby home.
