Overnight shooting victims hurt while being carjacked; inside home, police say

MILWAUKEE -- Multiple overnight shootings in Milwaukee left at least two people hurt, police say.

The first shooting happened just after 8:30 p.m. Monday night in the 2800 block of N. 11th St., according to a news release from police. In that case, a 25-year-old man was shot at while being carjacked and was hit by a bullet.

The victim was taken to a hospital and is being treated for non-life-threatening injuries.

The second shooting happened just after 12:30 a.m. Tuesday, in the 4400 block of N. 27th St. That's where police say a 20-year-old Milwaukee woman was shot inside "a residence that was struck by gunfire."

The woman was taken to a hospital and treated for serious gunshot wounds.
