GLENDALE – An overnight fire leaves major damage to Glendale home.
The fire started just before 1 a.m. Sunday at home in the 2100 block of W. Greenwood Road.
First arriving law enforcement officers reported that the living room was fully-involved on their arrival, with fire coming through the roof. The North Shore Fire Department says Upon the arrival of fire crews, an aggressive interior fire attack was initiated, and the fire was quickly brought under control.
Fire officials report heavy fire damage to the living room and adjacent areas, including the basement bedroom below the fire room. The home also suffered major smoke damage throughout. The damage to the structure and contents is estimated at approximately $175,000.
There were no injuries to any of the occupants of the home or the family pet; all had safely evacuated prior to the arrival of emergency responders.
The exact cause of the fire remains under investigation by North Shore Fire/Rescue, and the Glendale Police Department, but it is not believed to be suspicious at this time.
