Police in Wausau got some help from onboard security system OnStar after a suspect took off with a family’s car and led police on a high-speed chase.

Authorities released dash-cam video of the high-speed chase on Friday. Police said a 46-year-old man stole a car with an elderly woman and child inside.

The suspect let the two out before leading police on a chase that reached 115 mph.

Police located the suspect using the onboard security system and navigation system.

"OnStar kept updating our officers where the vehicle was,” said Sgt. Brian Wyrcha of the Wisconsin State Patrol. “We got behind it, we confirmed we were behind the right vehicle, and that's when OnStar started the shutdown procedure of the vehicle."

The suspects told troopers he was going through drug withdrawal.
