GREEN LAKE COUNTY — A 73-year-old man is dead and a 72-year-old woman is severely injured after the SUV they were driving crashed with a farm sprayer Wednesday night in Green Lake County.
The elderly couple was driving on CTH A at Hickory Road in the Town of Mackford shortly before 9 p.m. Wednesday night, when they crashed into a self-propelled agricultural sprayer, according to a release from the Green Lake Sheriff's Office.
The 60-year-old driver of the sprayer sustained minor injuries.
After receiving a 911 call, first responders found the vehicles in the ditch rolled onto their sides northeast of the intersection.
A preliminary examination of the scene indicates that the SUV was northbound on CTH A and struck the sprayer that was eastbound on Hickory Road at the intersection.
CTH A was closed for over eight hours and reopened just before 5 a.m. Thursday.
The investigation is ongoing.
