BEAVER DAM — On Tuesday, a vehicle submerged in the Beaver Dam River was discovered with passengers inside.

The Beaver Dam Fire & Rescue Department responded, rescuing a conscious person and attempting to save another in cardiac arrest.

Initially, the first responders were told by the driver that there were up to five people in the car. This eventually changed to three people: the driver, the passenger rescued and an unaccounted for 2-year-old child.

Originally, the child was not located. Crews searched the entire river, only to find out the child was located safely in the care of relatives.

The passenger in cardiac arrest, Jared H. Frakes of Beaver Dam, was pronounced dead at the hospital.
