MILWAUKEE -- A man attempts to rob a waitress with a knife at the Omega Restaurant on Milwaukee’s south side but was stopped by restaurant employees.
It happened around 5 a.m. Tuesday morning, near the intersection of 27th and Morgan.
Employees say a man walked in with a knife, held the knife to a waitress's throat and demanded cash. Police say once the suspect got the cash, he ran out and that's when the cook and three other employees darted after him and were able to detain him until police arrived.
Police say the suspect is a 39-year-old Milwaukee man. The case will be presented to the Milwaukee County District Attorney’s Office in the coming days for charges.
One employee was transported to the hospital for treatment of a non-life threatening injury.
