KEWASKUM — Olla family members have released an update on their GoFundMe page after five brothers were inside a car that crashed last week on Interstate 41 in Germantown.
Valentin Olla, who was pronounced dead May 31 due to severe trauma to his brain, was kept alive by machine in the hospital so his organs could be donated.
The 15-year-old's heart, liver, kidneys and pancreas will be donated. The family said five donors were matched.
Luciano Olla, 13, has made some progress in his recovery. On Monday morning, he briefly opened his eyes when the doctor called his name.
As of Wednesday afternoon, donations have surpassed $171,000 of a $200,000 goal on their GoFundMe page.
