Milwaukee based Northwestern Mutual says their annual meeting in 2020 will be moved to accommodate the Democratic National Convention.

“We’re looking at the impact of the DNC on our annual meeting dates and we’ll share details as soon as we can," spokesperson Betsy Holyman said.

Employees have been notified in an internal email.

Hoylman said there are “lots of discussions on our end.” The Northwestern Mutual event usually brings in 10,000 employees and visitors when it's held in Milwaukee.

Northwestern Mutual Chairman John Schlifske has been a supporter of bringing the DNC to Milwaukee attending the announcement at Fiserv Forum and tweeting: “Excited to be a part of today’s announcement, and proud of my hometown of #MKE #Milwaukee2020.”

The DNC will be held July 13-16th, 2020 and the Northwestern Mutual meeting is generally held in mid to late July.

No announcement has been made when the annual meeting will take place in 2020.
