A Milwaukee tradition officially reopens for the season Saturday at 10:30 a.m., and is offering free burgers to the first 150 customers at its Bradford Beach location.

But Friday May 20, Northpoint was already dishing up delights on Lincoln Memorial Drive. The frozen treats and burgers proved to be a big hit for customers.

Six year old Benjamin Blaeser exclaimed, "The hamburgers taste good!" It’s a sign Mother Nature's done with winter.

Customer Joe Mason says, "Finally maybe spring and summer's here. Yeah, I was on the golf course this morning, so maybe summer is actually coming!"

Danielle Hoffman admits, "I've been waiting all year. Especially when they put the sign out front that said opening soon, I was like Yay."

Her sister Anna Hoffman concurs.

"They have great twist cones, I just love having big twist cones, it's great. So did you have withdrawal over the winter. I did, it was tough, but I made it through," she laughs.

Their mother, Dana Hoffman says family trips to Northpoint is a tradition. But she laughingly admits, "Nice fattening activity."

Northpoint is a collaboration between the Bartolotta restaurants and the Milwaukee County Parks Department.  It will be open all summer.
