Mild weather and no snow is no problem for event planners of the Waukesha JanBoree.
"We aren't going to be able to do the ice fishing. We aren't going to do the tobogganing. All the other events are going to be available," says Waukesha Mayor Shawn Reilly.
One of the inside events includes the Flakes, Fur & Feathers party at the Humane Animal Welfare Society (HAWS).
"Our entire shelter will be full. We'll have raffle items for people to purchase raffle tickets and take home the goodies. In some of our other rooms we'll have a petting zoo for animal socialization," says Nichole Janny, event planner of the HAWS JanBoree.
She says the shelter hopes to adopt out all of its puppies, kitties, and bunnies.
"We are doing adoption specials. Since it's our 32nd JanBoree, all cats and dogs have a $32 discount on their adoption fee. So hopefully a lot of our puppies will get adopted and all of our cats too!" Janny added.
Our door activities include the return of the Frosty 5K, ice sculpting and for the first time this year there will be hot air balloons.
"We'll have six hot air balloons and they're going to light up the sky. So we'll talk to the pilots and see why they do that and how they came about to do that and just take a look at the balloons up close," says Joanna Adamicki, special events coordinator for the Waukesha Parks, Rec and Forestry Department.
