A tactical situation near S Calhoun Road and W National Avenue has ended peacefully New Berlin Police said in a Facebook post Monday morning.
The incident initially began as a custody dispute and later developed into a traffic stop where the driver refused to step out of the vehicle.
Police say they had received information that the driver had an Air Soft handgun and was going to force a "suicide by cop" situation.
Staff at the nearby elementary school, Ronald Reagan, were advised to keep students in the building.
