BROOKFIELD -- New Berlin police assisted the City of Brookfield with the arrest of three juvenile suspects involved in a short police pursuit early Wednesday morning.

It all started around 4 a.m. in the area of Moorland Road and I-94 when the City of Brookfield Police attempted to stop a car for speeding but the vehicle failed to stop and began to flee.

Brookfield police chased the car for only a few blocks but then stopped.

The vehicle was then spotted in New Berlin -- in the area of Calhoun Road and Cleveland Avenue. Police tried to stop the vehicle once again but it then fled. The vehicle eventually went into a ditch on Cleveland Avenue -- where the three suspects then tried to flee on foot.

One of the suspects was found with the help of a K-9 unit. The suspect was bitten by the K-9 after failing to follow commands. The other two suspects were eventually found without incident. All three suspects are juveniles in Milwaukee County.

The vehicle was later identified as stolen from a residence in West Allis.

The driver of the vehicle will be charged with eluding and resisting/obstructing an officer. The two passengers will also be charged with resisting/obstructing an officer.
