Neighbor: Fugitive in Eagle breaks into family's home, steals BMW

Posted

Neighbors said someone broke into an Eagle family’s home while they were on a vacation and stole their white BMW.

“I heard that they are on a family cruise right now,” said neighbor Mark Weibel.

Weibel witnessed deputies outside of the home, located a half-mile south of fugitive Jonathan Pogreba’s residence.

The Waukesha County Sheriffs Office said Thursday they believe 43-year-old Pogreba, stole a white BMW from a home about a half mile south of his residence in Eagle.

“I came out here mowing the lawn and I saw two Waukesha deputies go up the road and stop up there,” said Weibel.

According to a press release from the Sheriffs Office, “The vehicle that Pogreba is believed to be driving is a 2015, white, BMW 328XI, 4-door sedan with WI registration plates of 128-YCW.”

The news release goes on to say, “Jonathan Pogreba was last seen wearing a blue t-shirt, dark jeans, black tennis shoes with white trim and a black baseball hat with yellow lettering.”

That is a different outfit from the original clothing description investigators sent out earlier this week, which was a “dirty” white t-shirt and blue jeans.

Investigators also said, “We believe he may be headed to the La Crosse area or possibly Minnesota where he is known to have acquaintances.”

TODAY’S TMJ4 reached out to police helping Waukesha County with the case. Investigators said they have not located him as of Thursday afternoon.
