Nearly 40 percent of Wisconsin consumers would give up sugar over paying taxes

MILWAUKEE — With tax season in full swing, many Wisconsinites are not thrilled about handing over their earnings.

According to a study by offers.com, 37 percent of Wisconsin consumers would rather give up sugar than pay their taxes. Eighteen percent of consumers said they would rather give up their Netflix or Hulu account.

As for the top trends in handling taxes, 43 percent of consumers are planning to use a paid or free software to file them. Forty percent have voted TurboTax as their favorite software to use.

Fifty percent of Wisconsinites said they planned to file their taxes in February.

As for what consumers plan on doing with their tax returns, 31 percent will use it on debt, 28 percent on savings and 6 percent to travel.
