Nearly 100 people to lose their jobs when Friday's at Miller Park closes

MILWAUKEE — Miller Park's Friday's Front Row Sports Grill will be closing it's doors later this year and 86 jobs will be terminated.

This to make room for a new restaurant coming to Miller Park.

The Wisconsin Department of Workforce Development received a notice of a mass layoffs on Wednesday, set to take place on December 6, 2019. All 86 employees at TGI Fridays located at Miller Park will be let-go due to the closing of the restaurant. The restaurant hasn't announced a closing date.

According to the notice, all of the affected employees have been notified of their permanent termination.The company has ensured that all employees will be paid all earned wages and benefits at the time of their termination.

We don't know if any of the employees will be offered to work at the new restaurant.

The Department of Workforce Development and Employ Milwaukee will offer rapid response services to the company and affected workers.

The program's local rapid response teams will help the company and worker representatives develop and place a practical transition plan based on the size of the layoff. They're types of services include:

  • Pre-layoff workshops on a variety of topics such as resume writing and interviewing, job search strategies, and budgeting
  • Provision of information about programs and resources through written materials and information sessions
  • Career and resource fairs
