MILWAUKEE — 100 Milwaukee Public School (MPS) students will be receiving new desks from the Milwaukee School of Engineering (MSOE).

MSOE is hosting a desk drive to provide students with proper workspaces for virtual learning at home. One hundred K-12 students will benefit from the drive.

Student volunteers at MSOE and the university’s CREATE Institute are designing and building the desks. MSOE alumnus Jeff Hanson is donating 100 refurbished computers to go along with the desks as a part of his non-profit organization Digital Bridge.

The desks will be distributed to the students through the Boys and Girls Club of the Greater Milwaukee Area, and Milwaukee Public Schools.

On Dec. 15, the school will give 34 of the desks to the Boys and Girls Club. Then, in February, they will give 66 desks to families at Forest Home Elementary School and Alexander Hamilton High School.
