MOUNT PLEASANT – A Mount Pleasant man is in custody for sexually assaulting a child.
According to Mount Pleasant Police, the investigation began when the Racine County Human Services contacted their police department on Friday, December 1 about an alleged sexual assault of a child.
Through an investigation into this complaint, Mount Pleasant Detectives discovered the assault was done by the child’s mother’s current boyfriend. The investigation also revealed that the victim’s mother had been aware of the abuse occurring over an extended period.
Mount Pleasant Police took the man into custody with bond for one count of - Repeated Acts of Sexual Assault of a Child.
Police say the suspect is scheduled for an initial appearance court appearance on Tuesday.
