RACINE — Sunny the Groundhog is set to predict whether we will have more winter or an early spring this year at the Racine Zoo on Sunday.

Groundhog day is almost here, so what's your prediction? Will we see six more weeks of winter or will spring come early? That's what Sunny the Groundhog is going to guess on Sunday at the Racine Zoo.

"Sunny is not a fan of this recent weather, but she understands she’s got an important job to do. It’s her big day,” said Beth Heidorn, Executive Director of the Racine Zoo.

The zoo's resident groundhog will make his prediction at 10:00 a.m. on Groundhog Day.

This year is Sunny's sixth Groundhog Day at the Racine Zoo. According to the zoo, he serves as a Conservation Education Animal Ambassador and visits schools and events in hopes of encouraging education and environmental stewardship.
