MILWAUKEE -- One of the three famous domes at Milwaukee's Mitchell Park will reopen Friday, County Executive Chris Abele said Tuesday.
The Show Dome will reopen to the public on Friday, April 29th at 11:00 a.m., two days ahead of previously targeted May 1st deadline. Admission for the special reopening event is free.
County Executive Abele is expected to hold a press conference inside the Show Dome at 11:15 a.m. as well.
“I’m thrilled to announce that, thanks to the great effort of Milwaukee County staff, hardworking construction crews, and dedicated volunteers, we will begin the process of safely reopening the Domes ahead of schedule, with the Show Dome opening this Friday,” Abele said.
All three domes have been closed since late January due to falling chunks of concrete. Since then, temporary protective netting has been installed.
