A 24-year-old man from Mississippi is behind bars for a violent sexual assault in Elkhorn last week.
Police said in a news release the suspect from Jackson, Mississippi is awaiting charged in the Walworth County Jail. He is scheduled to appear in court for a bond hearing Wednesday.
They did not explain the nature of the arrest in the release.
Last Tuesday, a man attacked and assaulted a woman in a parking lot near Lincoln and Geneva Streets after the victim left work.
She was hospitalized with serious injuries after the attack.
Relatives of the woman went looking for her and found her being assaulted. The woman was hurt so badly she was unable to speak with police when her relatives called 911.
