OCONOMOWOC — A missing 57-year-old man from Jefferson County last seen on Sunday was found dead in Oconomowoc Wednesday morning.
The Summit Police Department said in a statement that officers found an abandoned vehicle overnight at Atkins-Olson Memorial Park at 37733 Sunset Drive. Police say the vehicle belonged to the missing man.
An effort by Summit police as well as Waukesha County Sheriff's Office deputies and the Western Lakes Fire District began combing the heavily wooded area and nearby cornfields. They deployed drones and used a K-9 unit to find the man.
At around 9:30 a.m., the missing man was found deceased in that area, according to Summit police. Right now foul play is not suspected, but the investigation continues.
His identity was not released.
