MILWAUKEE -- The weather outside is frightful, but to make it a little more bearable, a local radio station is sprinkling in Christmas music to go along with the holiday weather.

At radio station B93.3 (WLDB), they abandoned their normal "80's, 90's and today's hits" for holiday music once an hour.

"You can either be really frustrated with all of the April snow that's going on right now, or you can just embrace it and have a little bit of fun with it because we can't stop it from coming," said midday personality Melissa Jordan.

The station offered winter-themed prizes to the listeners who called in after hearing the holiday classics like Jingle Bell Rock.

"Just once an hour, nothing crazy, nothing over the top that's going to say I don't need Christmas music in April," said Jordan.

Joe Krauss, host of "Feel Good Mornings with Joe" weekdays 5:30a.m.-10a.m. posted on Facebook to see how people would react to the idea.

The station responded to the positive comments and gave fans what they asked for.

When a Christmas classic plays, call the station for a chance to win a prize. B93.3 offers a Holiday Prize Pack to the 10th caller.

"Since the weather outside is actually pretty frightful, we thought we could bring some cheer to our listeners, proving that we are Milwaukee’s Home For The Holidays all year round! " said Michelle Rutkowski, Program Director.
