It's soccer, in a different style.

Typically, Andy Davi is working on camp with the coaches from Bayer Leverkusen in Germany, a professional soccer club. Because of the COVID-19 situation, they unfortunately were not allowed to come.

This Milwaukee Torrent camp is at Ewald Soccer Fields in Oconomowoc.

"We have 99 kids in the camp. and a waiting list of almost 30 kids. You have to do it right, otherwise people don't trust you," Davi says. "Reputation is one of the most important things you have. But it's also again, it's the fun, you know me. This is what I'm living for. And it's just the right thing to do."

You can tell the kids are having fun, but the mission is to keep them safe as well. Social distancing is in effect, with 9 or fewer per group.

"We're not allowed to change the kids during the camp. They stay in their group. As you can see over here, even where there drop off their bags and their water bottles, they're social distancing. You can see this in the background with all the cones," Davi said.

And the kids? They're just happy to get out of the house, with friends.

"Since I haven't been practicing for a while, it just feels great to be out here. This is just a good camp," David Brimmer said.

"I don't even care if we're not playing. Even being able to like, play outside and have different people to play with? Even playing with somebody is nicer," said Megan Estill.
