Milwaukee teenager charged in fatal crash with school bus that killed brother

MILWAUKEE — A 17-year-old boy was charged in connection with a fatal crash that happened near 37th Street and Sheridan on Feb. 5 in Milwaukee.

Laron Ball reportedly ran a stop sign about 4:30 p.m., and his vehicle was hit by a bus, according to the Milwaukee Police Department.

Ball is charged with homicide by negligent operation of a vehicle, knowingly operate motor vehicle while revoked (cause death of another) and possession
of a firearm by adjudicated delinquent.

His 16-year-old brother, who was a passenger in the vehicle, died at the scene.

Upon arrival, an MPD officer observed a blue Toyota and a school bus appeared to have impacted each other and had suffered disabling damage from the crash, according to the criminal complaint.

Milwaukee Schools said the school bus driver was hurt and went to the hospital with minor injuries.

A girl was on the bus when the accident happened, but she reportedly was not injured.
