MILWAUKEE — From 2019 to 2020, the city of Milwaukee has seen a 52 percent increase in deadly car accidents.

From Jan. 1 to Oct. 28, 2019, the Milwaukee Police Department saw 42 deadly car accidents.

During that same time period this year, the city has seen 22 more deadly crashes, bringing 2020's total to 64.

That is a 52 percent increase from year to year.

The news comes after a 7-year-old was killed in a hit-and-run crash on Wednesday. That incident raised the death toll to 64.

Police are still searching for the suspect who struck and killed the 7-year-old.
