The Milwaukee Police Department is investigating a three-car collision that involved a squad vehicle.
Police say the crash happened about 9 p.m. Sunday in the 6000 block of West Silver Spring Drive when a driver struck an MPD squad car and caused a collision with an additional vehicle.
The officer inside the squad, an 18-year veteran with the department, was transported to the hospital for treatment. The passengers inside the third vehicle were not injured.
Police took the suspect into custody following the crash for suspected operating a motor vehicle while under the influence.
