A Milwaukee Police officer was arrested on DUI charges after crashing his vehicle early Sunday morning.
According to the Milwaukee County Sheriff’s Office, Anthony Rivera, 43, was arrested after crashing his vehicle along a guardrail and wooden posts in the southbound lanes of I-43 at Locust Street.
It’s Rivera’s first DUI arrest.
The Sheriff’s Office is cracking down on drunk drivers with an Operation Drive Sober initiative.
From Friday at 4 p.m. through Sunday at 6 a.m., nine drivers were arrested on suspicion of drunk driving including two repeat offenders and seven first-time offenders.
